Ottoman Empire in Tahtacilar and Tahtacilik ( in the 19th and 20th centruy)

This work's purpose is searchingfor an data about Tahtacis' sosyo-economic situations and bring in those datas chronologically. Within the work that wanted to be researched, Ottoman Puplic Archive and second hand sourches about that issue has been used. With using of the Ottoman documents, has been tried to create a portrait of Tahtacis. Tahtaci's life style, economic structers has been analyzed, datas about profession conditions has been put forward. Our works emphasis on Tahtacis' social structure and on the last section, Tahtacis' belief system and customs has been stressed on according to archive records. Important records among we analyzed, Adana Mufasal records has a prominent place with in important informations that includes. On that work we have utilized temettuat registers and regesters nembered 1812 has been analyzed. The informations that we found out has been represent as a chart within and the last section of the work. Our purpose is to analyze and represent to Tahtaci named ethno-religious group's place on the Ottoman society, relation with the state, social life, the jobs they did to make a living on the historical context. On the archive records, the crimes they did and how they punished has been found and moreover it was exmamined that what kind of difficulties that they had difficulties because of statesmen and bosses and furthermore it was examined that immigrations on their social life and the areas they drifted.
