SUMMARYThesis of High MasterIn the Ottoman Empire Using Measure and Weight UnitsÜnal TAŞKINThe Univercity of FıratThe Institute of Social ScienceThe Department of HistoryOttoman Empire have applied different administrative methods in which weight andmeasure system have formed to the provinces that under his rule in accordance with hischaracteristics, in the application have been used various measure units for different regions.Even measure units that mentioned same names shows differences of values. For instance?kila? although using everywhere it doesn?t same quantity, in addition batman, ratl, dirham,mitkal etc. Nevertheless there is also measures units that using a particular part of state but notother place.This case is ottomanization of using measures although continuation of pre-ottomancustoms. If width and etnic variety (diversity) of the state is take consideration it is understandthat this differences depend on rightful reasons.Key Words: Weight and Measure System
