Abstract (EN)
Our thesis titled "Provisions Regarding Fetus in Ottoman Period Fatwa Collections", is a study conducted to identify and analyze fetal fatwas by examining some outstanding fatwa journals belonging to the 17th-19th century Ottoman law. Our study consists of an introduction and two parts. In the first part, the legal importance of the formation of the fetus in the mother's womb is stated and explained in the light of texts and medical data. In the second part, the rights of the fetus related to life, lineage, inheritance, testament, foundation, abortion and the relation between fetus and iddah from Ottoman fatwa literature were examined. Finally, the evaluation of the study has been made and the current versions of the necessary fatwas are mentioned. Keywords Islamic Law, Ottoman Fatwa Collections, Fetus, Abortion
