Ergiri in the Ottoman period (XIX. century)

Our thesis named "Ergiri in the Ottoman Period (XIX. Century) consist of an introduction and three chapters. İn the first chapter of the study we have depicted the history of pre-Ottoman, Ottoman period and administrative structure of Ergiri. İn the second chapter we have examined the socio-economic structure of Ergiri, Bazaars, agriculture, taxes, temples, castles, settlement and poplulation, according to the religious and cultural dimensions. Throughout third charpter we have discussed about the education life and analysed the knowledge people. The city of Ergiri is located in the sourthern part of Albania today and bears the name Gjirokaster. İt is one of the most beautiful cities of Albania and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List as a rare and well-preserved example of the Ottoman township. The thesis has been prepared using primary sources relating to the researched period.
