Books in the Ottoman Empire's sosial life

Books, are the wehicles to storage and to transfer the data to the other generation, they were used for similar aims by different generations in all ages. The rural population apart from elite class went on their the way of data transportation and communication which is called verbalism. During the course of history, the aim and purpose of the books have changed and became more practical in the classical age. As the Ottoman State was the inheritor and trustee of many cultures in Middle Asia and Near East it had been including impressions of all these customs of cultures. Therefore the usage of books continued as both written and verbal in the Ottoman State imressed by all these cultures. Kur'an is the first objective and conceptional book of Islam, so Ottoman ideology have considered books as holy beings like its predecessors and the precision to keeping of sacred have caused the book being an object which cannot be reachable of Ottoman society during the classical age. Before the printing press had achieved the market competition to skillful penman, art of ichno which is one of the many handcrafts of Ottoman had propelled producing of books to distance. The Ottoman book was a rare object reacable in social life. It was art as it was rare; it was commercial as it was art so it had been reacable by poor people only by the help of state or reach people. Bookshelfs in mosques, muslim seminaries and foundation libraries appeared in time were the places that books can be reachable easily in social life. It is quite hard to say that to find a book in an Ottomans' house is easy as to find a straw, a pot or primitive agriculturel object. However there was Kur'an which is more popular among Ottoman culture. More or less there was one Kur'an in Ottoman's house.
