Abstract (EN)

In this study, trace elements (Cu, Zn, Fe, Co, Mn, Se, Ni, Pb, Cd) ve Mineral (K, Ca, Mg, Cl, P), antioxidant enzymes (CAT, GSH-Px, SOD) activities, MDA, GSH, TSA, LSA, TAS, TOS ve biochemical parameters (glucose, creatinine, TSH, CRP, RF, Vit B12) in blood samples taken from patients with osteoporosis and osteopenia diagnosis were investigated and the data obtained as statistical analysis of osteoporosis and osteopenia patients and controls were evaluated, also, correlations between parameters were performed. In the present study, antioxidant enzyme activities, trace element and mineral, MDA, GSH, TSA, LSA, TAS and TOS levels, as statistically significant decrease in Cu, Zn, Co, Se, Fe, Mg, GSH-Px, CAT, GSH and TAS levels between the control and osteoporosis group (p<0.05, p<0.001, p<0.001, p<0.01, p<0.05, p<0.01, p<0.001, p<0.001, p<0.01, p<0.01, respectively), in Zn/Co ratio, SOD MDA, TOS and OSI levels, significant increase (p<0.05, p<0.05, p<0.01, p<0.01, p<0.001, respectively), between the control and osteopenia group Zn, Co, Se, Mg, CAT ve TAS levels, significant decrease (p<0.001, p<0.05, p<0.05, p<0.05, p<0.05, p<0.01, respectively), in TSA, LSA, TOS ve OSI levels, significant increase (p<0.05, p<0.05, p<0.05, p<0.001, respectively), between the osteoporosis and osteopenia group were determined as statistically significant increase in GSH-Px level (p<0.05). In the correlation analysis, in terms of MDA - Co, MDA - Fe, MDA – Mg, MDA - SOD, BMI – F Z score, BMI – L Z score (p<0,01, p<0,05, p<0,05, p<0,05, p<0,05, p<0,05, respectively), in the osteopenia group, Se – Mg, Mn – L BMD ve Mn - L T score (p<0,05, p<0,05, p<0,05, respectively) were determined to be statistically significant. In conclusion, the statistically significant decrease in Cu, Co, Se, Zn, Fe and Mg levels indicates that associated with these elements are deficiencies and thus poses a risk to osteoporosis disease in this respect. As a result of the correlation analysis, L BMD, F BMD, L T-Score, L Z-score, F T score and F Z score parameters, along with MDA, Co, Fe, Mg and SOD enzyme activity, were used to determine osteoporosis, the measurement of Se, Mg and Mn values will be suitable for use as a marker in determining of osteopenia a disease, it is considered to be appropriate.
