Effect of mobbing on hotel employees turnover intention

The concept of mobbing, which is widely used in business life, that the employee is harassed and restless from the work environment. Mobbing is the harassing, humiliating, unfair behavior and words that a group applies systematically to another group or person in the business environment. It will be almost impossible to have an efficient and productive working environment in enterprises where mobbing is applied. Mobbing is a very common situation in hotel businesses, which are in a labor-intensive sector and employ many staff. Although Mobbing is seen in many sectors other than the tourism sector in many countries, it is a problem that is not considered enough and ignored. People who practice bezdiri and victims of mobbing are very affected by this process. Many personnel faced with mobbing may have to leave work. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of mobbing on the intention to quit in hotel employees. The sample of this research is 328 people working in various hotels in Istanbul. Mobbing scale and intention to leave scale were used in the study. The data obtained by data collection tools were entered into the computer as a numerical expression and these data were analyzed using the statistical package program (SPSS 25) for social sciences. According to the findings of our study, the intention to quit, relations with colleagues, threats and harassment, work and career and obstacles, private life intervention scores, and positive job loyalty scores are negative.
