Özet (EN)

Nowadays, either in manufacturing or in service industry lots of organizations figure out the importance of quality and they are trying to applicate different strategies and innovations to improve their process. In 1970's the increasing quality devolopments in Japan, caused the world to tend to quality. Especially, American corporations had to pay attention to quality improvement studies to be competetetive. In the leader communication Company Motorola, it was decided to improve a technique focusing on production process and listening to the voice of customers like Japanese Corporations do. In this method (Six Sigma), the main purpose is to decrease the defects to the level 3,4 per million opportunity . This technique begining with culturel change and the belief of management, decrease the defective rate in process increasing the value offer to the customer, so lasting success can be provided. This study was prepaired to explain the improvement, methodology and techniques of six sigma method, besides this study was made to provide the improvement in a process by using Six Sigma. In the first section, definition of six sigma, its historical development, its application areas and critical success factors and this method's advantages have been explained. In the second section, the DMAIC methodology, frequently applied tools and their roles in six sigma have been explained. In section three, implementation of six sigma methodology and required tools in a firm which produces automotive spare parts have been examined.
