Abstract (EN)

In this study, flocked fabrics were produced by using different substrates, different acrylic glue and different flock fibres that were cut in different sizes. The effects of substrate, acrylic glue, and flock fibres on the acoustic properties of the new flocked fabrics and the structural and mechanical properties of the fabrics were evaluated statistically and the relationship between them was examined. For this aim, eight different flocked fabrics were produced by using four different substrates of which had different compositions, grammages, and weaves, two different acrylic glues and two different flock fibres that had different length and fineness. The flocked fabrics were then tested for sound absorption coefficient, grammage, breaking strength, tear strength, seam breakage and adhesion strength. The results were compared with variance analysis. While substrate, glue and flock fibres affected the structural properties of produced fabrics, it was found that the acoustic properties were mainly affected by the frequency value range rather than the flock fabric components. It was determined that the sound absorption coefficient of flocked fabrics increased as the frequency increased.
