Application of supply chain in automotive spare parts

Automotive sector is the top sector in the world in terms of creatingvalue Because automotives are not produced completely on one production line.Spare parts come from different regions even countries and are put together inthe center. These spare parts have several alternatives. Automotive parts sectorconsists of spare parts and their alternatives.Procurement is very important for automotive spare parts sector.Because spare parts must be delivered to producers on time. Only proffessionallogistic service providers can make on time delivery without any damage. Forthis quality service, logistic service providers must have strong infrastructure.At the same time, logistics service providers must meet the needs of the spareparts manufacturers when they carry their raw materials.In the first part of the project, world and Turkish automotive sectorswere introduced in order to make comparison between them. In second part,world and Turkish automotive parts sector were explained in details. As we cansee in these explanations, Turkey has great potential in this sector. Turkey is thecenter of vehicle production and also provider of spare parts for someimportant international vehicle producers.Final part focused on a case study about a retailer which is a part of thesupply chain, in Turkey. The aim was to understand how small and mediumenterprises can manage their logistical activities in Turkey.
