Abstract (EN)

Many of the activities performed in educational practices are based on speaking skills. The beginning of developing the speaking skill of a person depends on the correct pronunciation of the sounds in his native language. Incorrect pronunciation of sounds distorts speech and can reduce intelligibility. Speech disorder can become a problem that hinders teaching in the educational process. Pronunciation disorder, not producing certain sounds correctly during speech can affect the child's language development and thus communication. This situation experienced by the child also shows its effect in the literacy process in the primary school age. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the effect of game-based activities on improving the speaking and reading aloud skills of 3rd grade students with speech disorders. 4 children aged 9-10, studying in the 3rd grade, participated in the study. The children's voice was recorded and transferred to paper, and the Articulation (Pronunciation) Test was applied to measure their pronunciation skills. The experimental process of the research was carried out according to the multiple probe pattern between subjects, one of the single-subject experimental methods. The data were collected in three stages: baseline, teaching and follow-up sessions. Students worked independently with game-based activities in teaching sessions. As a result of the research, it was seen that there were significant differences in children's speaking and reading skills. In addition, the data obtained reveal that there is a need for studies to be carried out with game activities in this group. Within the scope of the findings, suggestions for further research were made.
