Problems encountered by the hearing impaired (Deaf) students in the religious culture and ethics knowledge course in the special education high schools (The case of Kayseri, İzmir, Samsun)",

The aim of this study which is titled "The Problems Encountered by the Hearing Impaired (deaf) Students in the Religious Culture and Ethics Knowledge Course in the Special Education High Schools (The Case of Kayseri, İzmir, Samsun)", is to examine the problems that hearing impaired students encounter on the DKAB courses and to develop suggestions for the solution of the problems. The main problem of our study is the obstacles that prevent hearing-impaired students from achieving the maximum efficiency they will get from the DKAB course and the difficulties they experience at this point. The qualitative research method was used in the study. A semi-structured interview form was prepared for the interview which is done with the students. The study consists of four parts and results. In the first part of the study, field scanning was made and theoretical information was conveyed. In the second part, the findings obtained from the analysis of the interviews with the hearing-impaired students, is the basis of the study, were presented. In the third part, the findings and an overview was mentioned, and in the last part, the problems and suggestions determined based on the presented findings. As a result of the study, the obstacles on the efficiency of the DKAB course are as follows: The teacher who does not know sign language adequately, the curriculum of the hearing impaired students which is the same as their peers without disabilities, the subjects in the textbooks that are not handled in a way that facilitates learning, and the teacher who does not have enough equipment for the hearing impaired students. In addition to the fact that EBA does not have the option to watch a lesson in sign language or to allow students to follow the lesson with subtitles. So students find it difficult to reach religious officials who know sign language outside of school when they want to access religious information that they have doubts.
