The role of school managers leadership qualities on school teachers at private institutes

This thesis investigates the role of school managers' leadership qualities on school teachers. Research methodology of sample questionnaire is conducted to achieve the objectives of this work. Recently there has been growing effort in the literature that recognizes the significance of the group/team leadership and management characteristics from a general point of view, however the role of leadership qualities of school managers on school teachers is not well understood. To address this gap in knowledge, I conducted a seven (7) likert scale questionnaire including 52 question sets that tests the educational leadership of school managers at private high schools. This questionnaire is performed on 147 school teachers at one private high-school. The obtained results were quantitatively assessed based on SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). Research results suggest that flexible work environment and work satisfaction factors affect teacher's performance as a first order indicator. At the end, several recommendations are made for school teachers and managers in the light of the investigations made in this thesis.
