The efficiency of the suzuki method in the non-professionalviolin education

Considering the contribution of instrument education, which constitutes one of the most basic steps of music education, to the individual, it is considered that the instrument education carried out within the scope of amateur music education is also important, and it is seen that the individual contributes to the realization and development of himself and seizing the opportunity to know himself. In this context, it has been thought that violin, which has a high narrative power and rich literature, is one of the most preferred instruments, and in addition to the planned and scheduled work with expert teachers, the choice of methods to be used is considered to be very important for the effective, successful and permanent education process. In this study, it is aimed to examine the technical and musical achievements targeted in the "Suzuki Violin School 1" method and to evaluate the effect of Suzuki Method on the technical and musical achievements of the students in the violin education conducted within the scope of amateur music education. For this purpose, the sample group consisted of students from a private school and a music course affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, which are operating in the Nilüfer district of Bursa. In the application process of the research, "Suzuki Violin School 1" method prepared by Shinichi Suzuki was performed with the experimental group; the violin training was performed with the control group with traditional methods. The lasttest, which is the "musical skill measurement tool" prepared by the researcher was performed to the experiment and control groups after the application process, and SPSS 23.0 package program was used for statistical analysis of the data. In addition, technical and musical achievements of "Suzuki Violin School 1" method were determined by content analysis method. As a result of the study, it was concluded that the students in the experimental group had better levels of "posture and grip ", " right and left hand technique", "musicality" and "general success" than the control group students. However, it was determined that the content of the method would contribute to the technical and musical achievements of the students.
