Abstract (EN)
In this study, the core spun yarns were produced from cotton fibers and PVA filament yarns (cotton as sheath material, PVA yarn as core) by different yarn spinning methods. These core yarns were used as weft yarns for producing fabric with three different weave patterns. These fabrics were washed to remove the PVA filament. Thus 100% cotton fabric structure with hollow yarns in the weft direction were obtained. The effect of the hollow yarn types and fabric structures on the fabric are investigated. The mechanical, physical and comfort properties of these fabric were analyzed. It was found that the weaving structure was statistically important on the air permeability of fabrics. The highest water vapor permeability value was found for fabrics produced of plain fabric, on the other hand it had been found that the values of fabrics of satin and twill fabrics were close to each other. It is believed that the inability to find the effect of the weft yarn structure used for hydrophilicity values is due to the high hydrophilicity of 100% cotton fabrics.
