Özet (EN)
Recently the need for energy is increasing rapidly due to the dense and more use of engine vehicles and industrial production by people in line with the technological developments. Most of this energy need of many countries, particularly our country, is supplied by the petroleum fossil fuels. The unit price of the energy, which increases every passing day due to the limited reserve amount of the petroleum, affects the country negatively in the economical manner. The analysts head towards the renewable herbal fuels when the negative effects of the fossil fuels both on the environment and human health. In this study the experiments have been performed on a diesel engine, which has single cylinder, internal combustion, direct-injection and is air-cooled, by mixing the cottonseed oil methyl ester at the ratio of 10%, 20% and 50% by volume. During the experiments, performed on two different injecting pressures (210 and 225 bars) and at 4 different torques (2,5-5-7,5 and 10 Nm) of the mixture of diesel fuel and cottonseed oil biodiesel, the values of engine pressure, heat release, exhaust emissions, fuel consumption, noise and vibration have been measured. No significant changes have been observed at the measurements of two injecting pressures during the experiments. In general a reduction has been observed at O2 emissions depending on the torques and an increase at other emissions. The lowest values have been achieved on the pressure, heat dissipation, noise and vibration values at 2,5 and 10 Nm and highest values have been achieved at 5 and 7,5 Nm. Furthermore, the worst values for the B50 fuel have been achieved at 10 Nm torque value in all experiments.
