Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out in the Trial Unit of the Faculty of Agriculture of Dicle University in 2016 in order to determine the effect of quality and yield components of topping and Mepiquat chloride applications on cotton in Diyarbakır conditions. Delta Opal, Carmen, Gloria and Deltapine 499(Gossypium hirsutum L.) varieties were used in the study.Trial was established using the pattern of Divided Parcels in Randomly Selected Blocks with 3 replications. The main plots of the cotton varieties (Delta Opal, Carmen, Gloria, Deltapine 499 (Gossypium hirsutum L.) and the application forms (topping, Mepiquat chloride and control). In the study, approximately 10 days after the start of the first flowering, ie 100 ml / da MC application at the flowering peak, shortening the plant height (78.30 cm) according to the topping application; (8.21 pcs / plant) and boll mass weight (4.46 gr / bolls); the number of bolls that did not open (2.3 plants / plant); The topping application carried out 113 days after planting provided the highest recorded wood yield (321.88 kg / da) and fiber elongation at break (6.77 %) according to MC application; fiber length (28.35 mm), fiber breaking strength (33.98 g / tex); fiber slice (4.54 microns), the number of trash and the trash area. It has also been found that topping and MC applications do not have an impact on the number of woody ducks, number of fruit ducks, ginning turnout, short fiber ratio, brightness and yellowness (+ b).
