Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to investigate the burnout status of amateur athletes during the pandemic period. A total of 221 amateur athletes, 137 men and 84 women, among the athletes interested in amateur sports in Kırşehir, participated. In this study, "the sports burnout scale" developed by Raedeke and Smith (2001) and adapted to Turkish by Kelecek, et al. (2016) was used. The scale developed by Raedeke and Smith (2001) consists of three sub-dimensions which are "emotional / physical exhaustion", "reduced sense of success" and "depersonalization". On the other hand, the scale adapted by Kelecek et al. (2016) into Turkish, consists of 13 items including "emotional / physical exhaustion", "reduced sense of success" and "depersonalization" (Appendix-3). The scale was evaluated in a 5-point Likert expression range (1 = never, 5 = always). The "emotional / physical exhaustion" dimension, which is one of the sub-dimensions of the scale, consists of 5 items (1.3.7.9.10. Expressions) which include "I feel extremely tired from doing sports" and "I feel exhausted in the sense of sport". The "reduced sense of success" dimension consists of 4 expressions (4.6.11.12.) including" I cannot accomplish much in sports" and " I feel successful in sports". The last dimension, "depersonalization", consists of 4 statements (2.5.8.13.expressions) in total that include "I am not in the sport as much as I used to" and "I have negative feelings for sports". The SPSS package program was used for data analysis.
