Abstract (EN)
In this research, the positive and negative of the courses distance education process implemented due to the new type of coronavirus pandemic, the opinions of primary school teachers, students and families were examined and their suggestions were taken. In this direction, the study was carried out with phenomenology (phenomenology), one of the qualitative research designs. The study group of the research consists of primary school teachers, 3rd and 4th grade primary school students and parents who have children in primary school, who studied in Elazig in the 2020-2021 academic year and were determined by easy sampling. The data of the research were collected through semi-structured interview forms.The obtained data were analyzed by content analysis. The indications of the research were explained with themes such as the estimation of the process, the estimation of course durations and suggestions. According to the indications, while the participants found the process positive in terms of continuity in education, protection from epidemics, providing time and financial economy, they stated that it provided children with development in issues such as technology awareness, better use skills, self-regulation, self-care and self-confidence. On the other hand, they stated that they have negative aspects such as the lack of sufficient technological facilities and internet connections, the inability to provide classroom management and sufficient interaction, the inadequacy in the assessment and evaluation, and the inability to support development. In addition, children fall behind in classes academically, can not provide self-discipline in their behavior, do not fulfill their home and homework responsibilities, have difficulties in social adaptation and communication, develop screen addiction in this process, psychological depression, tendency to violence, distraction,unhealthy weight gain They stated that they experienced health problems such as increased growth, unbalanced nutrition, eye and posture disorders. Teachers, students and families stated that the duration of the lessons is necessary and sufficient to avoid falling behind on the subjects, but they find the durations too long due to distraction and perception problems as a result of the prolonged screen time. Participants made suggestions, to increase the efficiency of the process, such as providing the necessary technological opportunities for everyone, creating more interactive virtual education environments, providing information and awareness training, enriching the virtual materials used, reducing the number of student, disciplined classroom management and homework controls, and providing guidance work. In the case of resuming face-to-face education after the process, they suggested repetitions of the lessons that make the children active with games and activities, supporting the academic deficiencies of the children with free courses on the weekends, supporting the development in multiple ways by including social activities inside and outside the school, also providing psychological support to the children through guidance services.
