The relationship of COVID-19 psychological difficulty and coronavirus anxiety in university students during the pandemic period and the relationship of insufficient stigma in seeking psychological help

The aim of the study is to examine the effects of COVID-19 psychological distress and coronavirus anxiety levels on the relationship of insufficient self-stigma in seeking psychological help in university students during the pandemic period. In addition, according to demographic variables, the relationship between COVID-19 psychological distress and coronavirus anxiety levels in university students during the pandemic period and insufficient self-stigmatization in seeking psychological help were also examined. Research universe; consists of students studying at universities. The sample is; The study consists of random university students selected by random method, living in different regions, with different demographic characteristics and on a voluntary basis, in order to obtain the best possible sample in order to minimize selection bias. The sample was reached by using the simple random method in the study. The created scale battery was applied to a total of 400 university student participants studying at the university. In the study, the COVID-19 psychological distress scale, the coronavirus anxiety scale, and the self-stigmatization scale in seeking psychological help were applied. Statistical calculations of the analyzes were made with the SPPS package program. In the study, statistical analyzes of the findings were carried out based on the .05 significance level. It is aimed to make a discussion on the results obtained. When the perceptions of COVID-19 suspicion, loss of confidence, and self-stigmatization were analyzed by education level, a significant relationship was observed. Only the perceptions of the risk of loss of trust were found to be significantly correlated with whether a family member had COVID-19. There was a significant relationship between psychological distress, fear of COVID-19, perceptions of suspicious anxiety and feelings of inadequacy, and discomfort with the word COVID-19. A significant relationship was observed according to the perceptions of psychological distress, fear of COVID-19, suspicious anxiety, self-stigma and loss of confidence, and the thought of seeking psychological support during the pandemic period. When the effect of psychological distress and COVID-19 anxiety on the risk of loss of confidence faced by university students was examined, a significant relationship was observed. It has been observed that COVID-19 anxiety has a significant relationship on feelings of inadequacy.
