Abstract (EN)
This study aims to examine the effects of monetary policies implemented in Turkey after 2000 on selected macroeconomic indicators. Following the crises experienced before 2000, the Turkish economy took significant steps toward achieving macroeconomic stability through comprehensive reforms and structural changes. In this context, the impacts of the monetary policies implemented by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) on key macroeconomic indicators such as inflation, interest rates, growth rates, exchange rates, and unemployment rates have been analyzed in detail. The study focuses on Turkey's post-2000 monetary policy strategies, particularly the inflation targeting regime, exchange rate policies, and interest rate adjustments. The effects of money supply, interest rate policies, and exchange rate policies on macroeconomic indicators have been evaluated using econometric models and data analysis methods. The findings indicate that the tight monetary policies implemented by the CBRT have led to a significant decline in inflation rates; however, high interest rates have had restrictive effects on economic growth. Additionally, the impact of exchange rate policies on the balance of imports and exports has been examined, revealing that exchange rate fluctuations can pose risks to macroeconomic stability. The study underscores the need for careful management of monetary policies to ensure the sustainability of Turkey's macroeconomic achievements in the post-2000 period. This research highlights the critical role of monetary policies in shaping macroeconomic balances in developing countries, using Turkey as a case study, and provides valuable insights into the long-term effects of these policies.
