Abstract (EN)

Industrial technologies, which grow exponentially every year, have greatly increased the consumption of resources used and the need for energy. This situation: It motivates industrial organizations and researchers, who aim to produce more at lower costs by using less resources, to seek and research alternative technologies and processes. Stainless steel production, which is widely used in all areas of the industry, is a sector that constantly develops itself around the world. In order to enable less resource use and to obtain a better material surface quality; The vapors of the acid solutions in use were sprayed onto the material surface with the help of acid-resistant nozzles with the help of the designed mechanism. Trying to be done with this method; It is to remove the high temperature oxides formed on the surface of the material during the heat treatment process and to ensure that the passive oxide layer, which provides stainless steel, is grown on the surface in a homogeneous manner. Within the scope of the thesis, the oxide layers formed on the surface after annealing in a single thickness austenitic series AISI 304 quality and ferritic series AISI 430 quality stainless steel samples were analyzed by scanning electron microscope (SEM), surface structures, and high temperature oxides growing on the surface were analyzed by XRD analysis. After the pickling process applied to the surface, the surface morphology was measured with an optical profilometer and corrosion tests were carried out to investigate the effect of the passive oxide layer formed on the surface on the corrosion resistance of the stainless steel after the new process designed as an alternative to the classical method. Experimental findings were compared with old methods.
