Pedagogical art criticism competency perception scale development study

In this study, it is aimed to develop a scale which can reveal the perception of the students' pedagogical art criticism. For this purpose, a working group with ongoing training of 210 middle school students in the province of the Eastern Anatolia Region of Turkey, was created. The research was carried out using a screening model of quantitative research methods. SPSS and AMOS programs were used for data analysis. The study was tested at .05 significance level. Internal Consistency Reliability (Cronbach's Alpha Value) and Test-Retest Reliability to test the reliability of the scale, Scope Validity to test the validity, Kasier-Mayer-Olkin and Bartlett test to test the conformity of data to the factor structure, Exploratory Factor Analysis for Structure Validity , Item Analysis and Confirmatory Factor Analysis tests, Univariate (Independent) T-Test to measure the difference between the scores of the Pedagogical Art Criticism Perception Scale of the students according to the gender variable, One-Way ANOVA test to measure their scores according to the grade levels Pearson Correlation Coefficients test was used to measure the relationship between pedagogical art criticism perception and art interests. The internal consistency of the scale was excellent for the internal consistency reliability, and the internal consistency of the scale was excellent. As a result of the test-retest reliability, the relationship between the two applications was found to be high, positive and significant. It was found that the value obtained as a result of KMO analysis was suitable for Factor Analysis, and that the factor with two factors reached as a result of Factor Analysis fell to a factor as a result of Confirmatory Factor Analysis and that the fit index values were acceptable. In the study, it was also observed that the mean scores of the Pedagogical Art Criticism Perception Scale did not differ according to the classes and gender, and there was a low positive and significant relationship between the level of proficiency perception and level of pedagogical art criticism. At the stage of development of the scale, it was concluded that the values obtained from all analyses were valid and reliable scale with 1 factor consisting of 31 items. The scale developed can be used to determine the level of pedagogical art criticism of secondary school students according to gender and class and to determine the level of pedagogical art criticism.
