Pembezāde Ahmed b. Osman al-Erzurūmī and His Work Named "Sharhu Qasīda Bānet Su'ᾱd" (Research and critical edition)

A lot of commentary work has been done in different languages on the qasida that belong to Ka'b ibn Zuhayr and called Bânet Su'âd, in which he praised the Prophet and his muhaceer companions. One of the commentaries in question is the work of one of the Ottoman authors Pembezāde Ahmed b. Osman al-Erzurūmī and His Work Named "Sharhu Qasīda Bānet Su'ᾱd" (Research and Critical Edition) In this study, three manuscript copies were identified in the Nuruosmaniye, Hacı Beşir Ağa and Hasan Hüsnü Paşa collections. These manuscripts were given the sign nun (ن) for Nuruosmaniye, bâ (ب) for Hacı Beşir Ağa, and ha (ح) for Hasan Hüsnü Paşa. The Nuruosmaniye (ن) copy was taken as the basis for the research and examination. In the examination made, this copy was compared to the other copies. It has been determined that it is the oldest copy and has fewer errors. The original, which we accept, was compared with the other copies and was written in accordance with today's Arabic orthography rules and the work was prepared for printing in accordance with the edition/critical rules. In this way, one of the commentaries written on the eulogy was brought to the world of science and the rhetoric of the Arabic language.
