Abstract (EN)
Pepper (Capsicum annuum), which is in the Solanaceae family, is grown most produced vegetable plants in the world and in our country in terms of production area and amount. Pepper vein yellows virus (PeVYV) infection has been frequently encountered in Antalya and its surroundings, where greenhouse pepper production is highest. Nucleic acid sequences and protein levels were determined by molecular characterization of PeVYV in this thesis study. The verification was performed by RT-PCR with the PeVYV genus and species-based primers that were detected symptomatologically in Antalya between 2019-2020. Whole genome sequencing was achieved using the genome primers of PeVYV. Virions taken from pepper plants were examined with a transmission electron microscope and spherical particles of 25 nm were photographed. As a result of bioinformatics studies, it was determined that PeVYVAnt01 isolate is in the same group with pepper isolate recorded from Greece and pepper isolate recorded from Italy, which is 95% similar.
