Abstract (EN)

This study was done with a view to determine the opinions and expectations of the military personnel in relation to performance assessment system applied at Land Forces as well as to investigate whether such opinions and expectations differentiate by the defining characteristics of military personnel.A questionnaire form which was prepared in line with the purpose was applied from 30 August 2010 to 30 August 2011 to 100 military personnel in charge in Tuzla. Data obtained from the questionnaires was analyzed in electronic environment usig SPSS 17.0 statistical software. In determining the defining characteristics of the military personnel who took part in the study, percentage and frequency descriptive statistics were used and in determining the opinions of military personnel in respect to existing performance assessment system which they wish to have, mean and standard deviation statistics were used.In determining the relations between the opinions of military personnel in respect of existing performance assessment system applied and their expectations as to a performance assessment system which they wish to have, correlation analysis was used and in studying the differentiation of the opinions and expectations of the personnel as to the performance assessment system by their defining characteristics, 't' test, one way Anova test and tukey's tests were used.In the result of study, it has been deduced that the military personnel has no so positive opinions in respect to the existing performance assessment system applied at Land Forces and their expectations are quite high. It has been concluded that the opinions and expectations of military personnel as to performance assessment system are not differentiated by their age, educational background and birth place but their opinions and expectations are differentiated by other defining characteristics of them.Key words: Performance, Performance Assessment, Performance Assessment Methods.
