Abstract (EN)

The Effect of Pre-Performance Routines on Football Players' Fear of Failure, Sports Anxiety, Self-Confidence and Penalty Shooting Football players' pre-performance routines (PPR); can be expressed as physical routines, imagery, self-talk, relaxation techniques and external attention focus. In short, PPR is the thoughts and actions that an athlete performs before the task, regarding the tasks he/she performs regularly. The development of these routines is important for athlete performance. The aim of this study was to examine the effects of PÖRs on football players' fear of failure, sports anxiety, self-confidence and penalty kicks. The universe of the study consists of football clubs in Şanlıurfa and the sample consists of U16-17 category athletes who regularly train in Şanlıurfa Sports Club infrastructure with the convenience sampling method from non-probability sampling methods. Twenty football players, aged between 15 and 16 with an average age of xˉ=15.05 (SD = 0.22), participated in the U-16 class, while 20 football players, aged between 16 and 17 with an average age of xˉ=16.30 (SD = 0.47) participated in the U-17 class. The study was conducted with a total of 40 volunteer football players. The study is an experimental study from quantitative research methods and a pretest-posttest control group model was used from trial models. Informed consent form, participant information form, sports anxiety scale-2, performance failure evaluation inventory, continuous sports confidence scale and penalty shot procedure were used for performance measurement as data collection tools. SPSS 21.0 statistical package program was used in the analysis of the obtained data. As a result of the Shapiro-Wilk normal distribution statistics, it was seen that the data showed a normal distribution. In the analyzes; Paired Sample T-test was used for within-group comparisons, and Independent sample T-test was used for between-group comparisons. Statistically, the significance level was accepted as p<0.05. As a result; While POR studies have a successful effect on the penalty performance of the athletes and a partially significant effect on creating sports confidence, it has been determined that they do not have a significant effect on the football players in overcoming sports anxiety and fear of failure.
