Abstract (EN)
Within the scope of the thesis, the city history and location of Perge were mentioned, the figures of the god Dionysus and his faith/mythology were analyzed based on the two friezes with Dionysus and Eros reliefs recovered from the theater of the city and the corner space at the intersection of East-West, North-South Streets, and the mythological characters of the figures were tried to be defined. The place and importance of the Dionysian belief system in the Mediterranean world has been emphasized, and in this context, through the figures on these two friezes, the importance of the Dionysian world in the Roman Period for Perge in particular, and more generally for Anatolia and the Mediterranean Geography, and what similarities and differences there are between these two geographies have been emphasized. By making use of sculpture, painting, mosaic, ceramics, architecture, coins and written sources, the dating of the two friezes was emphasized through iconographic comparisons, and dating suggestions were made by examining the typological and stylistic characteristics of the figures in the relief.
