Abstract (EN)
This research was conducted to examine the effects of existential concerns on the subjective well-being of women who experienced perinatal loss. It is thought that women who experience perinatal loss have high levels of existential anxiety and low levels of subjective well-being, and accordingly, the functionality of women who experience loss will decrease. The sample of the study consists of 144 women living in Turkey, aged 18-45, who have experienced perinatal loss. Personal Information Form, Existential Concerns Questionnaire (ECQ) and Subjective Well-Being Scale (ÖİÖ) were used in the research. During the statistical analysis process, it was determined that the data showed a normal distribution and parametric tests were used in the analysis. In comparisons between groups for normally distributed data, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used for the difference between scale scores for more than two categorical variables, and the Hochberg results were examined in the Post hoc test to determine which groups the differences between groups were. Pearson Correlation Analysis was used to determine the relationship between the scores obtained with the Existential Concerns Questionnaire and the Subjective Well-Being Scale, and Simple Regression Analysis was used to predict the relationship between them. A significance level of 0.05 was used as a criterion in interpreting whether the obtained values were significant or not. As a result of the research, it was concluded that there was a negative, moderately significant relationship between existential anxiety levels and subjective well-being levels of women who experienced perinatal loss. It was determined that there was a significant difference in terms of age variable in the avoidance sub-dimension of existential anxiety. It was determined that there was a significant difference in the existential anxiety levels and sub-dimensions of the participants and their subjective well-being levels in terms of the education level variable. In line with the results of the research, it is thought that it is important to introduce psychoeducation and psychological support mechanisms to increase subjective well-being and reduce existential anxiety in women who have experienced perinatal loss.
