The relationship between empowerment and job satisfaction: Astudy on health sector employees

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is determine the application of "employee empowerment" by current management approaches at health institutions and investigating the impact of this application on employees' job satisfaction.This study composed of two sections. In the first section, health sector which is the significant part of service sector is examined with discussing service and service sectors. Afterwards job satisfaction and employee empowerment terms are underlined respectively.Second section includes a fieldwork that deals the impact of employee empowerment applications on healthcare sector to employees' job satisfactions. Data collected from healthcare professionals by Istanbul's public, private, corporation and university hospitals. This section includes the aim, method, model, hypothesis, universe, sample, data collection tools and results of the study.Six various factors identified by the expressions of employee empowerment scale: "be able to use resource", "be able to take initiative", "competence in accordance with significance of profession", "be able to make a common decision", "be able to get help or support" and "flexible job definition".In consequence of analysis through job satisfaction and employee empowerment (6 sub-dimensions) relations' it is deduced that there is positive and significant relation as statistical of entire variables with job satisfaction. "Be able to use resource" has the most dominant relation with job satisfaction. In other words, while the competence of being able to use resource by participants, the satisfaction degree of them will increase to the same way.
