An application of modelling production systems by Petri nets

Petri nets, as graphical and mathematical tools, design and analys of discrete event systems. As a graphical tool, Petri Nets can provide you observation system behaviours. And as a mathematical tool, it is possible to set up state equations and algebraic equations, so the model can be understand by mathematical aspect.In this thesis, you can find, how to use Petri nets in modelling production systems and behaviour analys, performance evaluation and simulation of production system.This study involves three sections. In the first section, Petri nets general structure, definition and studies which has done since 80?s is given. In the second section, Petri nets behaviour characteristics, how to analys systems by Petri nets and types of Petri nets is discussed. In the last section, modelling, behaviour analysis, performance evaluation and simulation of an refrigerator production system are defined by using PetriNet toolbox in MATLAB program.
