Abstract (EN)

Peyami Safa, who initiated his literary endeavors with the series "Stories of the Century" in the newspaper Yirminci Asır, was initially unaware of the significant impact these early works would have on his subsequent career. Beginning his journey with short stories, Safa later expanded his repertoire to include novels that solidified his esteemed position in Turkish literature, as well as a diverse range of genres encompassing essays, criticism, textbooks, and columns. He is a writer who attracts attention today thanks to the simple and clear language he uses in his stories and especially in his novels. As an astute observer and analyst of human nature, Safa was an avid reader who adeptly conveyed his insights to his audience through his prolific writing. The enduring quality and relevance of Peyami Safa's contributions to Turkish literature continue to captivate scholars and inspire extensive research. However, despite this sustained interest, a comprehensive scholarly examination of his short stories remains absent. This study seeks to address this significant lacuna by conducting a thorough analysis of Peyami Safa's short stories, which were foundational to his literary career and pivotal in establishing his reputation. The primary objective of this research is to meticulously examine the structural elements, thematic concerns, linguistic characteristics, and stylistic features of his short stories.
