Inteview to obtain the piano teachers opiions about the basic principles of major piano education schools existed in history and their usage in today's piano teaching activities (sample G.Ü.G.E.F.)

The purpose of this study is to make a research on the basic principles of major piano education schools throughout the history and by obtaining the opinions of piano teachers at Gazi University Faculty of Education Music Department it is aimed to make a connection to today's teaching activities. By this connection it is assumed that today's teaching materials might be understood better and therefore education efficiency may be increased. The study is descriptive, after a literature research, an interview was held with the piano teachers of Gazi University, Faculty of Education, Department of Music. The data obtained was analyzed and interpreted. According to the results of this study, it was shown in which levels the piano teachers agree with different ideas of different piano teaching schools. It was also shown that there is a need to make more research about the physical and mental basics of piano playing activity. As a last conclusion, it was obtained that the piano teachers of the faculty share the idea of making more research and study about the piano education schools may increase the efficiency of piano education of the department.
