PKK/KCK action profile: A case study in Gaziantep

The purpose of this study is to depict the act profiles carried out by PKK / KCK organizations in Gaziantep between 2003-2013 in a detailed way and to make sufficient arguments and assessments about the issue. The data about the research' were collected by document analysis, one of the qualitative research techniques and the validity and reliability analysis of the acquired data's provided by means of couple expert survey, external audit and multi encoder process. In the process of data collection, the acts of PKK/ KCK in Gaziantep between 2003-2013 were examined in detailed way, in total 173 acts in 18 different kinds're determined and these acts're classified under six headings. In the result of this research it's noticed that there were changes in the acts carried out in Gaziantep both in form and density year after year. While inner city violence acts are intense in some years; walking protests, press conference, propagations are intense in some years. In the light of collected data and results, it is suggested that the ways to be performed during countering terrorism should be shaped within this context since terrorist act profiles which change year after year both in form and density are different from each other.
