Abstract (EN)
OBJECTIVE: The main goal of our study is to show that PCOS is an inflammatory process, to determine the relationship of this inflammatory state with insulin resistance, hyperandrogenism and body mass index and to evaluate whether certain inflammation markers ( IL-17, SEMA3A, NFkB) can be helpful in the diagnosis in this process. RESULTS: IL-17, SEMA3A levels were found to be significantly higher in the PCOS group. There was no difference between PCOS and control groups in terms of NFkB levels. Again, a positive correlation was found between SEMA3A and IL-17 levels and 1.5 alpha androstenodione levels, but no correlation was found between NFkB and 1.4 alpha androstenodione. CONCLUSION: IL-17 and SEMA3A levels can be used as auxiliary inflammation markers in polycystic ovary syndrome. The positive correlation with 1,4 alpha androstenodione levels requires further research in terms of treatment methods that can be used in the future. KEYWORDS: IL-17, SEMA3A, NFkB, ELISA, TLR, inflammation, PCOS, HOMA-IR, 1,4 alpha androstenodione
