Abstract (EN)

SUMMARY Investigation of Dynamic Vibration Analysis of Diesel and Gasoline Engine Coated with Plasma Spray Method In this thesis, Thermal Barrier Coating (TBK) is applied to internal combustion engines. With the TBK application, it is aimed to reduce the fuel consumption of the engines and to improve their emissions. In this study, the method of coating of gasoline and diesel engines is plasma spray method. The main reasons for choosing plasma spray coating method are; is easy to apply, requires simple equipment, economic, safe and chemical composition of the powder mixture used can be modified. Chromium carbide (Cr3C2) is used as the coating material of the gasoline engine. Chromium oxide (Cr2O3) is used as the coating material of diesel engine. Plungers and valves of these engines are covered; vibration and thermography analyzes were performed. In addition, biodiesel fuels were produced from crude safflower oil and crude chickpea oils by transesterification method. Adiabatic feature gained engine; Mixtures of D-2 fuel and biodiesel fuels with D-2 fuel were used as alternative fuels. NOx, CO, CO2, HC, smoke density emission values, exhaust gas temperature (EGS) and specific fuel consumption (AGT) values of the diesel engine were measured before and after coating. NOx, CO, CO2, HC emissions, EGS and AGB values of the gasoline engine were measured. These values were compared as percentages by means of graphs. Vibration and thermography analyzes, which are predictive maintenance methods of both diesel and gasoline engines before and after plating, are made and interpreted. With TBK, diesel engine exhaust emissions, HC, CO, smoke density emission and AGE values decreased, CO2, NOx and EGS values increased. Among the gasoline engine exhaust emissions, HC, CO, AGE values decreased and CO2, NOx and EGS values increased. The results showed that the use of biodiesel as TBK and fuel is an improvement to be taken into consideration in exhaust emission, AGT and EGS values in engines.
