The theory of emanation in plotinus and kindi

The problem of how God creates beings other than himself has always remained current in the history of philosophy and has been tried to be explained. In monotheistic religions and theological thought tradition, the relationship between God and the universe has been discussed through the relationship between the creator and the created. Creations become events because they come into existence later in time. This theory is called hudûs. According to this approach, it is not possible for the universe and the beings in it to be eternal. On the other hand, according to some philosophers, this approach contradicts the principle that God is perfect. Because according to them, God does not want something later. Wanting means change in God. If God is perfect, this change should not occur in him. Epistemological and ontological concerns require a new solution. According to Plotinus, this solution is explained by the idea of emanation. According to Plotinus, beings emerged from God when God thought of his own infinity. This approach is discussed through the relationship between the one who gives existence and the one who receives existence. Beings other than God come into existence when God gives existence. As for Kindî, he tried to find a middle way between both ideas because of the conditions of the period he lived in. While he, on the one hand, adopted the hudûs idea of the kalam tradition of thought, on the other hand, he incorporated elements within his own thought system that would be the source of Plotinus' theory of emanation. Kindī, who derived his understanding of the sublunar and supralunar realms from Aristotle, has followed Plotinus in believing that there is an emanation and reaction originating from God in the supralunar universe. In his view of the sublunar world, he thinks that every subsequent existence must be an event. With this thought, Kindî seems to have accepted the theological tradition.
