Abstract (EN)
This research aims to identify the administrators? and the lecturers? opinions serving at Police Vocational High Schools about in-service training activities they attended and to put forward suggestions about the content and practice of prospective in-service training courses.The population consists of 515 administrators, 96 academic staffs and 199 security class staffs serving at Police Vocational High Schools in 2007-2008 academic years. The sampling consists of 253 staffs including 166 administrators, 40 academic staffs and 45 security class staffs. The study was carried out by administering a questionnaire consisting of 31 items and designed by the researcher and the advisor of this study by reviewing related literature. The first part of the questionnaire consisted questions examining demographic features of sampling. The questions in the second part aim to identify the administrators? and the academic staffs? opinions about in-service training activities.The necessity and the effectiveness of in-service training and the problems encountered were discussed in this research. In the analysis of data, t-test and ONE-WAY ANOVA were employed. At the end of these analyses, frequencies, percentages, means scores, standard deviation and arithmetic means of responds were calculated. Significance level was taken as 0,05. SPSS 15.0 program was used to analyze the data.The results showed that there was no significant difference among administrators? and academic staffs? opinions about the necessity of in-service training activities, depending on their gender, experience, education level and the number of program they attended.There was no significant difference among administrators? and academic staffs? opinions about the effectiveness of in-service training activities, depending on their gender, experience and education level.There was a significant difference among administrators? and academic staffs? opinions about the effectiveness of in-service training activities, depending on the number of program they attended.There was no significant difference among administrators? and academic staffs? opinions about the problems encountered, depending on their gender, experience, education level and the number of program they attended
