ABSTRACTn this study, the competence of police in using force which has been one of thecompetences of the members of the Police Organization, one of the in chargeinstitutions that save the public security and protect and watch for the peace in ourcountry is tired to be explained.This authority is known by the law constructors through the laws. This study isformed by an introduction and other three parts. n the introduction part, the definitionof police concept has been made in general then its historical development has beenmade defined. n the first part, the qualification of police, the classification of them,their auties and auithoritise have been explained. n the second part, the concept ofusing force and its contents, the conditions of the competence of using force and thelegal limits and the conditions that police can use force, the methods of using force, thecompetence of using gun like the way of using force have been explained. In the thirdpart, the conditions of having responsibilities in ultra vires action and using force andthe ways of being prosecuted have been explained.
