Abstract (EN)

In this study, woven fabrics with different weaves and weft densities were produced by using polyester (PET) filament yarns with different fiber cross-sections. The effects of different yarn fiber cross-section, fabric weave and weft density on the structural (weight, density, thickness, porosity), permeability and acoustic properties of fabrics and the relationship between them were investigated. The results were evaluated statistically and the relationship between the factors was analyzed. For this purpose; 18 fabric samples were produced with three different weave types and two different weft densities, using three filament polyester yarns that were produced with the same production technology but in different fiber cross-sections within the scoop of the study. The weight, thickness, tensile strength, air permeability, sound absorption coefficient and sound transmission loss properties of the fabric samples were tested. Fabric porosity and cover factor values were calculated. In addition, SiroFAST tests were carried out to examine the structural and mechanical properties of woven fabric samples of different structures. The relationship between the results and the evaluated dependent and independent variables were examined using statistical methods. The results revealed that the changes in yarn fiber cross-section type, fabric weave type and weft density properties affect fabric structural and acoustic properties. Considering the acoustic test results, it is found that the sound absorption coefficient and sound transmission loss values increased as the measurement frequency increased.
