Every person on earth has to make a decision for the next step of his live. Motivation means influencing the employee to perform his / her duty in the expected quality and quantity. Today, it is possible to see this behavior in organizations such as various companies or institutions. The motivation of each individual varies depending on various situations and cultural heritage. In addition, this metamorphosis is significantly due to a wide variety of different needs of individuals. The attitude towards risk has been a topic that has attracted the attention of both academics and practitioners for centuries. Despite its importance in the financial service industry, there are many unanswered questions regarding financial risk perception. Therefore, the current study is conducted firstly to understand the cognitive bias of the Ponzi scheme investor. Secondly, to analyse the risk preference of the Ponzi scheme investors. Further, the study attempted to explain the role played by cognitive bias and risk preferences in Ponzi scheme, the various concepts of risk preferences in Ponzi scheme, the motivations behind Ponzi scheme investors' behavior, the different Ponzi schemes and investment scams, and the different factors that expose investors to Ponzi scams.
