Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is primarily clarifying what `Green Pop /Islamıc Popular Music? is. In this context analysis categories in popular music research are restricted. However, this study is aimed to be more effective and informative.Firstly in musical production context, religious-historical-musical components, which hold key for formation of Islamic popular music, will be explained by conference with maestro of Islamıc popular music in Turkey such as Taner Yuncuoglu , Esref Ziya Terzi, Omer Karaoglu, Mustafa Cihad and Grup Nasihat .Secondly, it will be dwelled upon text analysis, which is one of fundamental analysis category, and different sample assortments analysed under title of Islamic popular music and determination of these differences. Lastly alternation of `consumption? in Islamic popular music will be mentioned. Here in especially profiles of musicians, audiences and ethnographic studies will be mentioned.Generally this study focuses on application of musicians that produces Islamic popular music and analysis of this production. To comprehend musical production, approaching crucial copies that implies musicians? own expressions and applications and evaluating the collected information in this respect are accentuated. Handling Islamic popular music in terms of production ? text ? consumption is explained by conferences and observations. Also with an interdisciplinary study perspective, flexibility of musicology?s benefit from other social sciences is taken into consideration. Consequently this study takes conceptual support notably from communication and sociology. Consepts such as symbol, signification, code etc. , which take place in communication and consulted frequently while analysing popular music production, are used as contributory. In conclusion Islamic popular music is approached under musicology ? teology ? sociology triangle and tried to be clarified.
