Use of nude body in the process of postmodern photography as a art

ABSTRACTThe effects of Postmodernism process on the use of nude body have been inquired in the thesis. It was set out with the idea of determining the reflection of speeches, which was revived with the theory of post-modernism, on nude body. In this context, initially the relationship between body and individual, identity was established and then the perception of nude body in the society has been determined within the framework of sextuality, erotism and pornography concepts. The connection between artistic work and nude body has been examined in light of the Ancient Greek Art and the remarkable works of art which were produced in the Medieval Period and Renaissance. It has been found out that the works of art were shaped with the view of religion, rulership and moral thought of the period.In order to be understood well, it displays the economic, cultural and social structure of Modernism and the impact of this structure on works of art have been examined. The samples of photos which include nude body in it have been analysed by identifying the structural features of modern art. Using the nude body and its easthetic development has been analysed via the photography art which is effected by the artistic movements of Modernism. As a result of the cultural, economic and technological changes, Modernism started to be discussed and because of the corruption in its structure, Postmodernist theory occured. In the thesis, Postmodernist theory, its effects on art, the codes which defines postmodernism and originating points have been identified.
