The construction of female identy in the context of postmodernity and conservatism: The Gaziantep case

The critique of modernity and the postmodern thinking that gives the knowledge of the post-modern but which do not suggest a specific system will be mentioned. Postmodernism which proposes dialogue between various subject and subject groups on the basis of pluralist and difference; it will be discussed that the dialogue between different identities, which came to the fore with this proposal, is a form of communication which is far from being fixed and quite unstable. It will be stated that social and cultural life has been simulated with certain language games in the area where a postmodern language with no depth is circulated and social and cultural life is quite superficial. In addition, the religion left by modern thought; it will be claimed that postmodernism is an illusion, rather than inviting the sacred quartet inviting daily micro-sociology to the religious essence as truth post. Moreover, as a modern ideology, the rhetoric of conservatism, which preserves social values; in the area where it appears as a modern demand, it will be argued that cultural and religious values are reproduced in the form of a new way of life. In the postmodernism everything happens with in the logic, the function of conservatism in the world where everything is removed from the center of the surface is examined; in addition to the criticism that both concepts bring to modern narratives, they do not have any criticism of the capitalist system; the face of the social and cultural elements and women's identity will be evaluated. For this purpose, in the context of postmodernism and conservatism, the sample of the city of Gaziantep as a researh center for analyzing female identity building forms at the local level was considered worthwhile.
