Comparative study of aerobic and lung flute use in addition to standard standard rehabilitation using post-thoracotomy

Abstract (EN)
Objective:The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of aerobic and lung flute devices on hemodynamic balance, pulmonary function tests, and blood gases in addition to standard pulmonary rehabilitation methods. MethodThe study was performed on a total of 60 patients randomly selected and divided into 3 groups. Group 1 (Control group); 20 patients with standard rehabilitation, Group 2 (Study group 1); 20 patients who underwent Lung Flute in addition to standard rehabilitation for 7 days in the post-operative period, Group 3 (Study group 2); In the post-operative period, 20 patients were administered Aerobica in addition to standard rehabilitation for 7 days. Post-operative rehabilitation was started after extubation at the same time in all 3 groups, and in addition to standard rehabilitation in addition to standard rehabilitation, group 2 and 3 patients were given 15 minutes of Aerobika and Lung Flute applications. Blood gases, PFT, hemodynamic findings, hospital stay, and complication rates were measured from all 3 groups. Results:The mean age of the patients was 53.8 ± 9. The duration of the patients in the care of the patients was 3 (1-6). Complications occurred in 20 (33.3%) patients. 25% had atelectasis, 15% had pneumonia and 13.3% had air leakage. FEV 1 and FVC values increased significantly in all three groups (p <0.001). It was determined that PO2 and saturation of the patients increased statistically significantly in all three groups (p <0,05). When they were encountered among themselves, the 24th and 48th hours were found to be between pH, PCO, HCO3, pulse, respiration, saturation, fever and SKB. There was no statistically significant difference (p> 0,05) in the standard rehabilitation group, the percentage of complications was higher (45%) (p = 0,377). Conclusion:It was concluded that the use of Lung flute and Aerobika devices with standard rehabilitation would prevent postoperative complications. Rehabilitation techniques applied in 3 groups have proven positive effect on postoperative blood gas, pulmonary function tests and hemodynamic parameters.
