Özet (EN)
It regulates mental processes such as learning and memory, processing of stimuli from the environment in the brain and development of appropriate behaviors. People consciously or unconsciously refer to memory in their work . Transferring the information perceived by the sense organs to the cells of the central nervous system and remembering it through interaction with previously learned information are the elements that make up the learning and memory process. The pathophysiology of factors that have negative effects on learning and memory has not been adequately clarified. Studies show that the cortex and limbic system play a role in learning and memory processes. Specific cortical areas, the primary and secondary motor and sensory areas in the cerebral cortex, have important functions. There are some large areas of the cerebral cortex that do not fit into the classical classification of primary and secondary motor and sensory areas. These are called association areas. The limbic system is a system that helps protect the individual and ensure the continuity of the species. This system is a specific neuronal network that interacts with each other in the formation of memory, addiction, stress and plasticity, and contains neurotransmitter systems such as serotonin, dopamine, noradrenaline, gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA), glutamate, acetylcholine. The hippocampus, located in the medial part of the cortex, rises to the lower surface of the lateral ventricle after it curves under the brain. The hippocampus developed as part of the olfactory cortex. It plays an important role in deciding which foods to eat in the most primitive animals, which objects can be dangerous because of their smell, and many vital decisions. There are controversial studies on the use of statins in pregnancy to cause a teratogenic effect. Theoretical concerns about a potential disruption of gonadal steroidogenesis by reducing cholesterol are not supported by conclusive evidence in animals. Experiments in rats and rabbits have shown that simvastatin has no teratogenic effect. Statins inhibit cortical fetal brain development and metabolic abnormalities – in vivo and in vitro, reduce cognitive deficits in animal models of traumatic brain injury, increase neurogenesis, and decrease neuronal death have been shown to be effective in restoring cerebrovascular function in adult and aged APP (Amyloid Precursor Protein) mice. In this study, it was planned to conduct a learning and memory experiment in the offspring of rats given pravastatin and atorvastatin during pregnancy. Key words: Learning, memory, atorvastatin, pravastatin, rat.
