Abstract (EN)
Objective: The comparison of macular measurement and retinal nerve fiber layer thickness obtained by optical coherence tomography in the cases with ocular hypertension and primer open angle glaucoma. Material and Method: This study performed between March 2013 and May 2014 by Dicle University Medical Faculty, department of ophthalmology glaucoma section, in which 49 eyes of 30 patients diagnosed as having PAAG and 33 eyes of 20 patients diagnosed as having OHT were involved and their intraocular pressure under control with medical treatment. Their files examined retrospectively. İn both groups macular thickness measurements and RNLF measurements obtained by OCT were recorded and values comparised between groups. Also evaluated correlations the detected measurements in the groups. Findings: There was no signifficant difference between foveal thickness measurements obtained by OCT in two groups (p>0,05). Significant difference between macular values as MV (Macular volüme), MAK. Üİ. (Macular superior inner quadrant), MAK. ÜD. (Macular superior outer quadrant), MAK. Tİ. (Macular temporal inner quadrant), MAK. TD. (Macular temporal outer quadrant) , MAK. Nİ (Macular nasal inner quadrant), MAK. ND. (Macular nasal outer quadrant), MAK. Aİ. (Macular inferior inner quadrant), MAK. AD. (Macular inferior outer quadrant) average values in two groups was found (p<0,05). This values was found significantly lower in glaucoma group. Significant difference between RNLF values as RNNS (Nasal superior RNFL), RNN (Nasal RNFL), RNI (Nasal inferior RNFL) , RNG (Central RNFL), RNTI (Temporal inferior RNFL), RNT (Temporal RNFL), RNTS (Temporal superior RNFL) average values in two groups was found (p<0,05). This values was found significantly lower in glaucoma group. İn glaucoma group statistically significant positive correlations between values was found generally when comparised maculer and RNLF values in groups. İn OHT group there was no significant correlations between values. Results: Statistically significant difference was found between macular thickness and RNLF values obtained by OCT in glaucoma and OHT patients. İn glaucoma group reduction was found both maculer thickness and RNLF values. İn OHT piatients significant responce was not found both maculer thickness and RNLF values. Because of OHT patients candidate for glaucoma patients may think the responce of macular thickness and RNLF values in this patients will began further periods. Therefore importance of OCT determine both progression of PAAG and follow up of OHT patients. Reduction of macular values are important finding as well as RNLF thickness reduction in OCT.
