Police Departments are employed to prevent crime, provide security and struggle against freedom threatening situations. Police are seeking permanent solutions. In modern policing approach; analizing each crime at the field, reducing, eliminating and preventing crimes methods are necessary and these ideas are basic principles of Problem Oriented Policing (POP). Although Problem Oriented Policing is preferred in the World especially in preventing crime, this subject remains weak in practice. In The United States of America, researches show the reason of the weakness is personnel and budget insufficiency neverthless there is a widespread conviction that crime analysis and problem oriented policing provide steps to reduce and eliminate crimes. In this research, analizing is dealt which is one of processes of Problem Oriented Policing model SARA ( Scaning, Analysis, Response, Assessment). Crime Analysis of Problem Oriented Policing (POP) is evaulated by asking questions to chiefs of Gaziantep City Police Department fort the purpose of making police more proactive on crimes and criminals. Outcome of utilizing knowledge and experiences of police at the field can help police to struggle against crime. Keywords : Problem Oriented Policing, Crime Analysis
