Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the conscious awareness levels of psychological counselor candidates according to various variables. The research was conducted on 171 counselor candidates. 117 of the candidates were female students and 54 of the them were male students. "Personal Information Form" and "Five Dimensional Mindful Attention Awareness Scale " were used in order to collect data. The scale consists of observing, defining, behaving with awareness, not judging internal experiences and unresponsiveness to inner experiences. Frequency (f), percentage (%), arithmetic mean (X) and standard deviation (SS) were used in the study to determine the students' conscious awareness levels. The distribution of scores was examined in order to determine which statistics will be used to compare the averages between groups for causal comparative design. When Kolmogrow-Smirnov test, skewness and kurtosis coefficients were examined, it was observed that the distribution of scores showed normal distribution. Therefore, in order to determine whether the conscious awareness characteristics of the psychological counselor candidates differ according to the identified demographic characteristics (gender, class, graduated type, preferred order, preference, preference) or not two tests were used. T-test was used for independent groups in the comparison of the two groups averages, and one-way ANOVA was used for comparison of more than two group averages. Tukey test was used to identify the source of the difference in Anova. As a result of the data obtained from the research, it was concluded that the level of conscious awareness of the psychological counselor candidates was at a moderate level. It was concluded that the observing characteristics, defining characteristics and behaving with awareness characteristics of the psychological counselor candidates were relatively above the medium level, and that the characteristics of non-judging and unresponsiveness were at a moderate level. It was concluded that, in general, the conscious awareness of psychological counselor candidates did not differ according to gender, class level, graduated high school type, the reason of bachelor's degree preference they are studying and the order of preference. The results were discussed in the scope of the literature and suggestions were made
