Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between five-factor personality traits of psychological counselors and their job satisfaction. The sample of the study was composed of 80 school counselors working at public and private schools allied to Ministry of Education in İstanbul. In the study, the socio-demographic characteristics of the psychological counselors were collected with ''Personal Information Form'', five-factor personality traits was evaluated with ''Five-Factor Personality Inventory, '' and job satisfaction was assessed with ''Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire''. This study was designed as a relational screening model. Obtained data were analyzed with SPSS software program. According to the results, it was found that openness to experience and social desirability characteristics were higher in psychological counselors working at private schools compared to those working at public schools. In addition, psychological counselors who have a private office had statistically different agreeableness/compliance characteristics and openness to experience characteristic. In conclusion, a statistically significant correlation between personality traits and job satisfaction in psychological counselors was not observed.
